About Me

Have you experienced a loss and are navigating the grieving process? Feeling defeated, anxious, down, or out of sorts? I want to welcome you to this safe space. I aim to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental, nourishing space to help adults (ages 18+) walk this new path. Grief is deeply painful and a shared experience we all have. It is also a testament to immense love- with great grief is great love. Let's journey down this road together- the dark, the light, and all the in-between.

My approach is personalized and holistic. I use a variety of modalities personalized to you and your needs, including somatic therapies, positive psychology, grief counseling, and cognitive behavioral approaches. I often work with clients who are looking to integrate traditional talk therapy with somatic practices. These body-based approaches help you befriend your nervous system, cope with stressors such as grief and loss, manage anxiety by understanding what’s happening inside your body, and increase your capacity to face life with resilience and ease.

My background: I have my doctorate and masters degrees in clinical psychology. I have been in the mental health field for over 15 years, and have been a licensed clinical psychologist since 2014. I have worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient state hospitals, outpatient facilities, and private practice. It has been an honor to have helped hundreds of people along their healing journeys.  I am a pet loss and grief specialist, and a certified Compassionate Bereavement Care provider from the Center for Loss and Trauma in partnership with the Miss Foundation and the Elisabeth Kubler-Ross family trust. I am trained in somatic embodiment and regulation, DBT, trauma-informed care, and breathwork facilitation. I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement.

In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and friends. I am an animal lover and have a dog and several cats (as well as pets who have departed from this physical realm who I still hold dearly in my heart). I am a staunch feminist, an LGBTQ+ ally, and a culturally responsive clinician. I love spending time in nature, and have completed training in plant spirit psychopomp work. I am a Reiki master and am hoping to pursue herbalism in the future.

I am pleased to share that I am able to work with individuals who are located in states that are part of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PsyPact):

Grief and Loss

Losing a loved one or a cherished pet is incredibly difficult and can cause deep, overwhelming emotional pain. I specialize in grief therapy and can help you navigate this difficult time.

A special area of interest within grief work is pet loss and grief. The unique bond and love we have for our animal companions is profound. I can help you cope, as you find ways to honor your departed pet, and find a way to cultivate a meaningful "new normal" with your grief.

Anxiety

Anxiety can be overwhelming and leave us feeling emotionally drained. I combine talk therapy with somatic techniques to help address anxiety from both psychological and physiological ways. Talk therapy helps you explore your thoughts and emotions, and somatic approaches help connect with your bodily sensations and regulate your nervous system.

Self-Exploration and Growth

Therapy can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and personal growth. By befriending our nervous systems and understanding what our bodies are telling us, we can begin the work towards a life we desire.

Stress Management

Stress is a common experience we have when under pressure, overwhelmed, or unable to cope. I can help you understand ways able to shift the state of your nervous system to help you feel more grounded and joyful, as well as identify coping skills for your life.

Trauma

Traumatic events can have long-lasting effects on your mental health. I am trained in trauma-informed therapies to help you heal and move forward.
